Esther Okade is a 14-year-old British-Nigerian girl with a genius IQ. At age 6, Esther passed the British GCSE test with flying colors, after being homeschooled by her mother who is a mathematician.
The baby genius is so brilliant that she obtained a PhD before the age of 14.
She hopes to own a bank by her 15th birthday. A genius is said to be somebody who exhibits an extraordinary intellectual ability to a certain stage associated with the achievement of new advances in a domain of knowledge and Nigeria is bursting full of them.
When news broke out about a 10-year old math genius, Esther Okade, who is born of Nigerian parents became an international phenomenon in the media. According to reports, Esther who lives in Walsall, an industrial town in the UK, did not attend a formal school as she was homeschooled by her mother; Omonefe Okade simply called Efe, who happens to be a teacher and a mathematician.
Esther is not all serious though. Just like every other little girl her age, she loves playing with Barbie dolls and dressing up as Elsa from Frozen.
Aside from playtime she is academically light years advanced compared to her peers. When she started school, her parents immediately notice a drastic change in the once vibrant girl, who said the teachers “wouldn’t even let me talk,” and decided to home school her.
At the age of six, Esther took the math GCSE, a task generally undertaken by 14 -16-year-olds in the UK, and passed.
The genius loves math so much that she wrote a book series for kids titled ‘Yummy Yummy Algebra’.
“It starts at a beginner level — that’s volume one. But then there will be volume two, and volume three, and then volume four. But I’ve only written the first one. As long as you can add or subtract, you’ll be able to do it. I want to show other children they are special.”
When Esther enrolled in college the child prodigy quickly set route to become the youngest undergraduate student in her class. She received a perfect score on her very first exam. Due to her love of math, Esther decided to finish college in two years tops, before owning a bank by the time she reached 15-years of age. The brilliant teens says she likes people and banking is a way to help them.
“I want to have a bank by the time I’m 15 because I like numbers and I like people and banking is a great way to help people.” Having perfect scores in her courses, she is to obtain her PhD before she turned 14.
