Black-owned beauty store made $50k in 3 hours of grand opening [VIDEO]
Waves of black women flooded the sidewalk in front of Sam Tisdale‘s, new Nashville based beauty supply store, Roots Hair & Beauty.
Tisdale successfully became the first black-owned beauty supply store in Nashville, Tennessee and also grossed $50,000 on its grand opening.
Until now, Nashville did not have a beauty store that will cater to the needs of women of colour. Thanks to Tisdale, black people in this community can have access to hair products, cosmetics, and fashion that suit them.
“We are proud to be the first, and hopefully we won’t be the last,” Tisdale said.
Local media outlets covered the grand opening of the store last week, as hundreds of people from Nashville’s black community came out in record numbers to support their first black owned beauty-supply store, defying the bad weather.
Within the first three hours, customers had helped the beauty company to generate an estimated $50,000 in sales.
