These days, people will say just about anything to get their 15 minutes of blog fame, and sadly it works every time.
The latest “I need attention” soundbite comes from a guy named Faizon Love, 52, who hasn’t done much since the time he asked Smokey to pay him his money on a Friday.
Jay Z has built a phenomenal rap career and laced his fans with BUSINESS & BRANDING game all along the way.
But instead of truly understanding how Hova plays chess and not checkers, actor Faizon Love decided to accuse Jay Z of building his rap career off of a fake drug career.
“I like Jay-Z. I like him as a guy and the whole thing he created about this fake dope dealing,” Faizon said during the interview. “That’s when I stopped liking him. This n***a ain’t sold no cocaine in his life—I don’t think he’s ever won a fight.”
The comedian went on to say that Hov’s music never told the trials and tribulations that come along with being a glorified drug dealer.
“There’s no stories of the other side,” he explained. “Somebody going to bust you. Nobody ever sold you pancake? … All this s**t sounds like an episode of Miami Vice.”
I am sure that men will place this discussion based on legitimacy. But as for me, the last thing I care about is if Jay Z sold drugs or not. In fact I’m quite sure he did. But that’s neither here nor there. The fact is that Jay Z is a huge inspiration to people to rise from their upbringing and shoot for something better than average.
He’s one of the most inspiring entertainers in the world and has built quite a legacy, business, brand and a family. He’s even contributed to the Black Lives Matter Movement, and many college funds.
So, at this point, for another black entertainer to talk bad about him is absolutely ridiculous. Especially a man Faizon’s age. I could see if it were a Young Buck shooting at the rap crown, trying to make a name for himself.
I feel that it’s all too common and accepted in the black community to talk crap about the great legendary leaders. Jay is a living legend who should be appreciated for his contributions to society.
But what else is new. When you’re greatness, someone will always come for you. I am sure Jay doesn’t give two phucks. He’s probably laugh, rap about it and make a few million more dollars with an intelligent diss.
Jay Z is so at the top of his game, that he doesn’t even have to respond to this mess.
Oh, and guess who agrees with me? Jay’s old advisory Cameron does.
Camron came to Jay’s defense and basically confirmed that Jay got money illegally and legally.
“I know me and Hov haven’t had the best relationship (publicly) but Faizon don’t know what the f**k he’s talking bout,” Cam’ron wrote on Instagram. “Weather legally or illegally n****s got to it.”
That’s what’s up. To me it’s sad that the negativity would even verify a man these days, who has pushed so far away from that narrative.
Faizon would be better off focusing on Tyler Perry, so that he could find himself an acting gig.
Faizon would be better off focusing on the size of his neck.
Leave Jay Z alone. What more does a man have to do to get some respect around here? For Pete’s sake, the man is married to Beyonce herself.
Give him his roses while he’s here.
Anyway, I can’t be out here roasting people. But this really bothered me. If you want to intern to write for this blog, inbox me. NOPE, it doesn’t pay at the moment. But you will surely learn how to monetize your writing and connect with an audience.
