Crimes Against Black Women
Police handcuff black family, & 6-year-old little girl at gunpoint [video]
Brittney Gilliam said she asked why the kids were being handcuffed and she was told officers handcuff kids when they get hostile.
On Monday, police in Aurora, Colorado, issued an apology after shocking viral footage emerged of officers drawing their guns on a black woman and her four minor children, after mistaking the woman’s car for a stolen vehicle.
Brittney Gilliam was with her 6-year-old daughter, 12-year-old sister and 14- and 17-year-old nieces on Sunday, when police pulled up with guns drawn. Gilliam said she, her sister and 17-year-old niece were brutally mistreated and handcuffed while police verified that the car Gilliam was driving was not stolen.
The video shows a 6-year-old little black girl and her entire family being handcuffed at gunpoint, and made to lay on the hot gravel parking lot pavement; while being surrounded by police. They can be heard crying in the agonizing video. Onlookers try to intervene and question police about pulling their guns on the little girls.

In a statement, police later apologized, saying they had received a report of a stolen vehicle at the thrift store parking lot.
