WTF! Chadwick Boseman, ‘Black Panther’ Star, Dead at 43
Chadwick Boseman, star of “Black Panther,” died on Friday after a four year battle with colon cancer. He was only 43-years-old.
Before he was cast as the Marvel Studios superhero, Boseman’s career first exploded with his portrayals of Black American icons Jackie Robinson (in 2013’s “42”) and James Brown (in 2014’s “Get on Up”). Boseman also appeared in Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods,” and played Thurgood Marshall in 2017’s “Marshall.”
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement read. “It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”
This is sad. I mean super sad… I mean I have no words. He didn’t even truly get to experience the height of his fame or what his character did for the culture.
R.I.P. to the entire year of 2020.
In April Chadwick posted a photo of himself and most of the comments focused on his weight loss and people asking him if he were okay. Fans knew something was wrong.
RIP Superstar. You were truly one of a kind and a legendary great. Thank You for the immense amount of love you have given for the image of black culture. You will forever be remembered.
