Abusive Pastor kills wife, because she didn’t want to be with him anymore

A ‘POWERFUL internationally known prophet of the Most High God’  – Sylvester Ofori, – has left his followers in a state of shock after shooting and killing his wife,  Barbara Tommey, 27.

Born in Ghana and with 60,000 followers on social media, Ofori is leader of Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries. 

Orlando, Florida – On Tuesday, an abusive pastor and self-proclaimed prophet shot and killed his estranged wife, as she arrived for work at the bank she was employed at.

In a newly released affidavit, details show that Sylvester Ofori, argued with his wife the day prior and threatened to kill her. The heated conversation was caught on video.

Shortly after Sylvester Ofori shot Barbara Tommey, 27, in the head multiple times outside Navy Federal Credit Union just before 9 a.m., detectives from the Orlando Police Department contacted Tommey’s sister, who had recorded a fight between the two on Monday.

Tommey’s sister showed detectives a video, in which Ofori threatened to kill Tommey while wearing the same shirt he wore when he shot and killed her.

Tommey’s sister and brother-in-law told police the couple was divorcing and estranged, and they identified Ofori as the shooter from a surveillance photo.

Bank patrons who witnessed the shooting while they waited on the bank to open, told officers Ofori was holding a gun while following Tommey as she walked toward the bank.

The murder plays out like a horror movie.

As she swiftly reached the door of the bank, Tommey knocked on the doors for someone to let her in, as Ofori continued moving towards her, ready to end her life. Ofori was within feet of her, before anyone could open the door. There he shot his estranged wife, and she collapsed on the ground.

Hurting her wasn’t enough. Ofori wanted his wife dead. As Tommey was lying on the ground, Ofori shot her in the head a few more times.

After shooting Tommey, Ofori calmly walked back to his rented Dodge Journey, and drove away “as though nothing happened,” witnesses told police.

Tommey was found lying on the sidewalk in front of the bank with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, the affidavit said. She was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center that morning.

Although it would be his last day as a free man, Ofori did not hide from the police. Police found the car Ofori was driving parked near the couple’s apartment on the 6100 block of Raleigh Street. He went straight home to his apartment complex after killing his wife.

Ofori was arrested at his apartment on Tuesday. He is being held at the Orange County Jail without bond, on the charges of first degree murder with a firearm.

A pastor at Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries in Parramore, 35-year-old Ofori advertised himself as a prophet and motivational speaker on Facebook. In the weeks leading up to the shooting, more than 60,000 followers on his Facebook page watched him post photos and captions centering on personal conflict.

In a post dated Aug. 11, he wrote “Don’t believe your neighbor or trust your friend. Be careful what you say even to your husband or wife. #Micah 7:5.”

The day before the shooting, he posted a photo to his page reading “One thing ppl gotta understand about extremely kind, nice, loving people is that their other side is just as EXTREME.”

If you are a strong spoken woman, it’s best that you deal with a MENTALLY strong man, who knows how to guide you deeper into your femininity. You can not deal with an erratic, ill-tempered man under any circumstances. He won’t win the game in life. He will blow it, because HIS emotions are more important. Men who hit women are WEAK. Trust me, it’s way too easy for men to control women with mere words.
