The sound of wedding bells ringing have temporarily escaped the grasp of Taraji P. Henson.
On a Monday morning Breakfast Club appearance, the Empire actress revealed that she and former NFL player Kelvin Hayden, have ended their engagement.
“I just turned 50 and I mean, I hadn’t said it yet, but it didn’t work out,” she told the hosts of the popular New York City radio show. “I tried. I was, like ‘Therapy, let’s do the therapy thing,’ but if you’re both not on the same page with that then you feel like, you’re taking it on yourself. And that’s not a fair position for anybody to play in a relationship.”
The couple got engaged in 2018 and were scheduled to be married in June this year.
During the show the cast discussed traumas in relationships.
I think this is a very important, enlightened interview for everyone to watch.. During the session Taraji confirmed that she and Kevin Hayden had split up, despite her best efforts.
She’s now single and 50-years-old. But says she still loves black men.
The thing about celebrities, is that although they have all of the money in the world, quite often they do not seek out enlightened relationship coaches who can cast light on the deeper issues causing trauma in the relationship.
If a woman wants to get married in this day and age, she has to know how to play the game.
Either way, we wish Taraji the best and hope she finds her King soon.
