Juliana Notari installed this clever sculpture on the side of a rural park named, Usina de Arte, in Brazil. She named her artwork “Diva”. She had 20 men work on the sculpture! I wonder what those men were thinking while working on it. Were they simply just there to get the job done or did they feel some type of connection and respect for this hard-working sexual organ.
The conservatives are outraged, but it just depends on the way you look at it. If you can’t really grasp her concept of how powerful and amazing it is, then it will always seem Rated-X. The vagina does way more than just spit and get hard, and that is something you HAVE to respect. We give LIFE. Our bodies create nourishment for our babies. Women go through and do so much and we don’t get that much credit.
So Juliana is here to help bring that awareness.
I think it is beautiful. She executed the idea perfectly. I would NOT in any way be ashamed to show my son or daughter, this art. Of course, my child would know how to be “conservative”, but I would want her to be proud of HERSELF, to learn about herself, and feel as if she shouldn’t be ashamed just because her body is more complex than a mans.
