We’re in 2022 and Columbus Short Is Still Getting Arrested For Domestic Violence

Actor Columbus Short is getting older, but not wiser.  After serving a year in jail for hitting his wife, the 39-year old Scandal star has been arrested again for the same thing.

Columbus a history of chosen mental chaos and violence towards his mates, that saw him lose his job on the show “Scandal.’

Yet in 2022, nothing has changed.

On Feb. 2, authorities responded to a call at around 10:30 p.m. related to a verbal disagreement that allegedly resulted in physical violence at the Columbus’ home in San Fernando Valley, California, according to TMZ.

Reportedly Short told authorities that his wife Aida Abramyan-Short punched him in the face. While cops didn’t see any signs of bruising on the actor, Aida allegedly had a minor injury that required no medical assistance.

Police arrested Short. The actor spent around 12 hours in jail before posting a $50,000 bond.

Short claimed the domestic squabble stemmed from him telling his wife to leave their home in a video he shared on social media that was re-posted by The Shade Room. He admitted feeling frustrated at the time of the incident and said he grabbed Abramyan’s phone, which he regrets.

“… I scratched her hand and… [sighs] post O.J., you know, the police came here, detectives were here, it was a whole — just ridiculous thing,” the actor said. “They [the authorities] had to make a decision. They didn’t want to take me. They didn’t want to take her. But they had to make a decision and based on that scratch I went to jail.”

Short ended the video by apologizing to “anyone he let down.” In the caption, he added:

“The Truth: Marriages are challenging but getting through it is a blessing! I AM not an abusive man nor am I on drugs, but drinking alcohol makes my mouth get a little out of pocket. That’s the truth. My wife and I are working on our marriage. The real work w/ @callmemrsshort #MyApologies #LEVITATING2022.”

This is not the first time short has been arrested for hitting his wife. In 2020 he was arrested for hitting this same wife and served a year in jail. In 2014 he was kicked off the show “Scandal” for abuse against his now ex-wife Tuere Short.

“I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then.”

The actor said Rhimes and his fellow Scandal co-stars knew about his struggle with substance abuse and did what they could to help him.

“They protected me, and they held me down,” he said. “And that was one of the real reasons — they just wanted me to get my stuff together. Sometimes the bottom has to be dropped out for you to really get it. So I moved to Atlanta. I’ve been living there for the last five months, five-and-a-half months, and it’s just been great. It’s been life changing.”

While  Columbus was in jail his wife Aida tweeted, “Columbus and I have a great marriage,” and “missing my hubby,” while he was in jail, Steffans said that he texted her around that time, “I’ve never loved a woman other than Tanee more

Not to mention in 2016, Columbus actually married superhead.

We are now in the year 2022, and nothing has changed. He still doesn’t have an ounce of sense. New woman, same game.

Short, is the typical abusive man. His desire to hit a woman, is higher than his desire to succeed. The rage causes him to not even care about the fall-out that is sure to happen.

There’s also something backwards about a man who would put a woman out the house, leaving her uncovered. Such men also yell and can be verbally abusive.

In the past Columbus has stated that part of his behavior was due to self-medication. Obviously that’s not working out.

Relationships actually aren’t hard when BOTH people in the relationship actually care about the success of the union and the happiness of their mate. It’s TOXIC when EGOs take over.
