Man Suspected of Killing Wife After Church Arrested At AIPORT With Ticket To JAMAICA

A  man was taken into custody after he allegedly tried to flee the country following his wife’s murder, according to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.

Adrian Salvatore Lewis, 49, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the disappearance of 35-year-old Shanita Eure-Lewis, federal officials said.

Eure-Lewis was reported missing to Newport News Police Sunday when she reportedly left Gethsemane Baptist Church around 9 a.m. and stated she would return for a second service, but didn’t.

According to police, Eure’s lack of communication and inconsistent behavior stated by her family was unusual.

Investigators learned she was last spotted with her husband leaving their home around 9:40 a.m. Sunday. The vehicle they traveled in was found in Hampton Monday afternoon, police said.

Lewis was at the departure gate at Dulles International Airport for a flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica when CBP officers called him in for questioning. Around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Lewis was escorted from the airport to Newport News, where he was arrested and charged.

“My heart goes out to Mrs. Eure’s family, especially her children, as well as the Gethsemane Baptist Church community,” Chief of Police Steve Drew said. “We are doing everything we can to find her and bring her loved ones some closure.”

CBP officers and Homeland Security Investigations agents discovered his wife’s passports and credit cards in his baggage after his arrest.

NNPD continues to search for Eure-Lewis’ body and police have narrowed the search to a few specific locations.

Crazy. It is so good that she had a family who truly cared about her. They were on it and so were authorities. If not he would’ve been home free for a while.

It also seems like it would’ve been common sense to wait till after her 2nd round of church, and that would’ve given him more time to get away, vs snatching her in the middle of the day.

Prayers for her soul to know that the last person she saw was the same man she probably believed loved her and betrayed her by taking her life.  Prayers for women in general right now.
