Wealthy Woman Reconnects with High School Sweetheart on Facebook, Marries Him, Then Finds Out He Stole $1.4M from Her
Miami, Florida – A woman looking for love claims she was scammed out of $1.4 million by her high school sweetheart.
The story starts out in 2014, when Dorian Wilkerson popped up in Shareza Jackson‘s message box on Facebook.
Jackson, 44, a single mother of two teen daughters, said that Dorian’s clean-cut image and her fond memories from high school came flooding back when he contacted her. At the time, she was at a high point in her life, very successful in business and ready for love.
She quickly started to believe Wilkerson, who claimed to be an epidemiologist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a doctor at Emory Hospital, was the only missing piece to her puzzle. She prayed to find a husband.
At the time, Jackson was working as a regional director for a Fortune 500 health care company, owned her own home, two luxury vehicles, and was a published author, but happy to reconnect with someone she thought had the same values and work ethic as she.
She told DailyMail.com how excited she was when he told her about his work as a doctor at Emory Hospital, overjoyed to have found someone she believed shared her work ethic.
Shareza alleges the man plotted on her, promising her the love they dreamed of as kids, but little did she know he would introduce to her a nightmare of lies that would lead to her financial ruin and his financial come-up.
Decades after the two graduated from high school., Wilkerson quickly swept the single mom off her her feet with a truck full of lies. Chief among them was that he was Dr. He was not.
Not long after reconnecting on social media, they started meeting up in person. Shareza would travel from Florida to Atlanta, and stay in a hotel, where Wilkerson would pick her up in his Bentley, fresh from work and still in his scrubs, before taking her to his luxury apartment before their date.
She thought he was a knight in shining armor, and within two years, the ‘lovebirds’ married. Except in this case only one person in the relationship was truly in love.
“He was tall, dark and handsome, and he was very accomplished,” Shareza said in an interview with the Daily Mail about Wilkerson. “He was not just an MD but also a Ph.D. and attended these prestigious universities and would lecture around the country on vaccines and infectious disease.”
Her two now adult daughters were so taken by the man their mother loved, they legally changed their last names to match their new stepdad.
Shareza and Dorian stayed married for six years. During that time Wilkerson was able to gain her trust and swindle over $1 million from her portfolio.
In 2022, Jackson discovered the man of her dreams was not the man she thought he was, but an alleged serial predator who conned her out of her retirement fund, a business investment and multiple loans
Jackson filed for divorce in March 2023. Months later, in October 2023, she filed a civil lawsuit claiming that he weaseled approximately $1 million from her account and $400,000 from a business investment.
According to the complaint, Wilkerson manipulated her into using funds from her 401(k) to establish a cosmetic clinic, where he would perform a range of plastic surgery procedures, including breast augmentation, tummy tucks, and Brazilian butt lifts.
After setting up this business, he would take the profits for his own benefit. He also forged her signature on documents to secure loans in her name, pocketing that money. Jackson, who claims she was not actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business, remained oblivious to these illicit activities; while wondering why the business wasn’t successful and turning a profit, as they had a roster full of clients.
To help their investment and keep their business afloat, she says she left her corporate job to devote herself entirely to their cosmetic center.
It was at this point that she began to notice unexplained discrepancies in the financial records, realizing that substantial amounts of money were missing from the company accounts.
When she started questioning Wilkerson about missing money, she claims he had an answer for everything. She began believing he was a ‘master manipulator.’
As their romance began to unravel, she says she started to hear stories about Wilkerson stealing money from other people.
Several women who were allegedly deceived by Wilkerson reached out to tell her that ‘he’s a dangerous person and is not who he says he is.’ They warned her to be careful.
One woman, who told Jackson that she is friends with Wilkerson’s first ex-wife sent her a text describing Wilkerson as a master ‘con artist’.
‘I have known him for 16 years and he has always been a liar and a con,’ she wrote.
Increasingly anxious at realizing the man she fell in love with seemed to be a con artist, Jackson’s worst fears were realized, she says, when she allegedly saw a text he’d sent to a male friend saying he didn’t need her anymore because ‘she’s broke’.
Jackson began digging into her husband. She was appalled to discover he was a convicted felon, who had been arrested for fraud in 2002, battery and assault in 2007 and battery, assault and family violence in 2009 – and was still on probation.
Jackson believes Wilkinson is currently living with another woman.
In the court documents, she claimed Wilkerson ‘has a pattern of defrauding women and leaving them with high debt once he feels he can no longer benefit from them anymore.’
The documents state that ‘wife became aware husband was previously convicted for fraud, a conviction which husband downplayed and about which he misled wife’.
According to the filing, she claimed ‘husband event went so far as to fabricate parts of his past to wife. For example, husband mispresented that he was formerly an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’.
She also alleged that he committed adultery throughout their marriage. ‘Upon information and belief, several accusation of sexual harassment have been made against husband by third parties.’
To make matters worse, Jackson alleges her deceitful husband also cheated on her.
Other women started to come forward sharing their experiences with him. They told her that he was a “dangerous person” and was not who he said he was.
They were right, according to police reports. While he told Jackson he was an esteemed doctor, he actually had a laundry list of misdemeanor and felony charges, dating as far back as 2001 that included battery, assault, family violence, domestic battery charges, theft, extortion, and even being fined for pretending to be a doctor.
When Shareza confronted her narcissitic husband with the information she discovered, he filed a complaint with the police alleging she was mishandling their joint finances and tried to get her arrested.
While Jackson is waiting for the divorce to be finalized and the civil case to come through, she is using this experience to her benefit and the benefit of others.. She has published another book telling her story, “Successful Women Get Played Too.”
She believes her faith and telling her story are the first steps to reclaiming her life. Shareza is also on a mission to protect successful women. She aims to prevent them from encountering narcissistic abuse, gaslighting, and fraud from their lovers.
I really feel for her. Imagine thinking you’ve met your dream man and proceed to operate as a power couple, only to later find out YOU ARE THE ONE with the power and your dream man was siphoning yours.
The reason I started my relationship coaching business is because of remarkable women like Shareza. A smart, beautiful soul, who did the work to reach unparalleled success. Yet, in the intricate dance of life, the nuances of embracing femininity to manifest a thriving, affectionate relationship remain elusive to her.
My mission is to improve relationships in the black community and teach couples how to get along and have healthy, long-lasting, thriving relationships.
Shareza titled her book “Successful Women Get Played Too;” in my experience of relationship coaching, successful women are THE FIRST women to get played by men. I’ve had many women come to me telling me they were paying a man or buying a man and it backfired.
In this case it’s not necessarily Shareza’s fault. As she was grossly mislead by her husband into believing that he too was a wealthy man. She did not believe that she was going into a relationship with a man whom she had to build up to be successful.
The weird thing about many men is that you think they would appreciate having a financially helpful woman like Shareza. But most times they don’t. The masculine energy in such a woman activates COMPETITION within the man. Because she is doing everything she can to financially help him he sees her as someone to use up and compete against. He doesn’t see her as a delicate feminine woman.
What I love about Shareza is that she is not crying nor playing victim. She says that she is grateful that God chose HER to go through this and knows that this is only a setback for an even greater testimony.
As for Dorian, he’s on Facebook talking about how good of a person he is….
