Nene Leakes Says She Was “Forced” Out Of The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’

Months ago blogger B. Scott announced that NeNe Leakes was being fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Initially Leaks denied being fired, as she was keeping her fingers crossed, hoping for her contract negotiations to go her way.

The show allegedly tried to force NeNe into a cheap spin off, to which she rejected.

Later the superstar admitted to being let go.

Undoubtedly NeNe made that show. But the show also made NeNe a “Rich B*tch” that gave her an opportunity to go on tour and even do her own comedy.

Now that the franchise can stand on it’s on two feet, they’ve cut the superstar and moved on to the next group of stars that will be made.

Leakes wants to be able to state her peace.

During a Twitter conversation, one fan posed a question to Leakes asking if she’d be getting her own spin-off show on Bravo. In response, 52-year-old Leakes shared:“They don’t think I deserve to work at all in any [capacity].”Another fan chimed in stating that it sounds like Bravo ‘forced’ her out of the show to which the reality star responded:“They definitely did”

NeNe has since moved on to Youtube and she’s not doing bad at all.

Although it surely hurts to be let go, especially when you thought you were indispensable, I don’t feel sorry for NeNe. She will be just fine.

Here’s why:

1. TV is fastly becoming irrelevant. Youtube is the new t.v. Once you’re hot and on t.v. you can pretty much take your fanbase anywhere you go.
2. NENE is now a BRAND. She doesn’t need a big network behind her in order to keep winning. She’s already has a networth of $14 Million. That’s leverage.

What other celebrities can take from this is to always have a back-up plan and to create multiple businesses with multiple sources of income. Once you are a celebrity you can pretty much sell anything. It’s not smart to be on a t.v. show and not have products and services available for sell.
