Texas Woman Accused of Killing Teen Girlfriend, Family Says the Relationship was ‘Very Toxic’

Houston, Texas – On Thursday, Shania Laneice Turner, 24, was arrested and charged with the murder of  her 18-year-old girlfriend Tierra Horn.

A Texas woman is accused of killing a teenager and according to media reports, the victim has been identified as her girlfriend.

Horn died from “compression” to the neck, citing an autopsy report. She was last heard from on Jan. 2 and reported missing two days later. Authorities found Horn’s body near a Texas bayou on Jan. 5, according to the police department’s statement, and authorities have ruled her death a homicide.

Her sister Rokeisha Calton told Fox 26 Houston that Turner’s home was one of the places where Horn’s phone last pinged before she vanished. “I want them to pay for what they did,” she told the outlet on Friday.

Skinesha Granville, another one of Horn’s sisters, told ABC 13 that the relationship was “very toxic” and claimed the couple frequently fought when they lived with her at one point.

During their relationship, Calton claimed that she often noticed bruises on her sister, who would not share details when asked about the injuries, she told FOX 26 Houston.

“We are just trying to make sense of it all,” Calton told Click2Houston.

A judge set a bond for $100,000 for Turner, according to KHOU-11. It is unclear if she’s retained an attorney to speak on her behalf or entered a plea.
