Oprah Winfrey Bought 26 Breonna Taylor Billboards, yet blacks still complain about her

I happened to see a post by Oprah Winfrey today, once again speaking about Breonna Taylor‘s death and how the 26 billboards she purchased were her contribution to the Black Lives Matter cause.

In the video, Oprah says that if it weren’t for Corona, she would be out in the streets marching with Black Lives Matters protestors.

150 Days since Breonna Taylor was killed

The last time I spoke to Breonna Taylor’s mom, Tamika Palmer, she was having a particularly bad day dealing with the loss of her daughter. She told me, “I can’t stop seeing her face. Her smile. It’s what I miss most about her…I’m still waiting for her to come through the door.” Everybody who’s lost a loved one knows that feeling. For every mother and father whose child is out in the world right now, imagine getting a call in the middle of the night that your daughter has been shot in her apartment. And then you find out the people who killed her were police officers who should never have been there in the first place. What would you want to happen now? Would you be content to hear five months later “there’s an investigation”? And that no one has been held accountable for shooting your innocent daughter multiple times and letting her life bleed out? If not for the coronavirus, I’d be out in the streets marching with the Black Lives Matter protesters. These 26 billboards, one for every year of Breonna’s life, are my offering. My form of protest. We cannot be silent. We have to use whatever megaphone we have to cry for justice.

I’ve also seen Oprah bring many black men onto her showing the past few months.

I’ve seen Oprah Winfrey give graduation speeches at colleges many times. I’ve seen the eyes of some of the girls from Oprah’s african academy. Many of those graduates made it over to college in America.

I’ve seen Oprah work with Tyler Perry to get her network up running and give blacks some pretty interesting tv.

I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t inspired by Oprah’s goodness in this world. She does great things in this world on a large scale, that I would love to do.

But it seems that not a lot of black people see Oprah through my same eyes.

For the most part, whenever I mention Oprah all I see are complaints of what she’s not doing for black people and how she hates black men and blah, blah, blah.

And I just wonder to myself of how much more a person would have to do, to give back to a group of people who obviously have no understanding of the amount of work and sacrifice it took to be in Oprah’s position.

But oooo, now I mentioned the word “sacrifice,” I don’t know how many times I’ve seen non-black people and black people call Oprah a devil worshipper. Yet, I always see Oprah mentioning God.

This world is something else.

As to why no one has been arrested for the death of Breonna Taylor, this article explains that.
